MISHAP TO RANGATIRA
REHEARING OF INQUIRY CHIEF JUSTICE TO PRESIDE (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 13. The Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) will preside at the rehearing in Wellington of the official inquiry into the striking of the inter-Island express steamer Rangatira on the rocks off Sinclair Head, Cook Strait, on February 2. The Marine Department will be represented by the Solicitor-general (Mr H. H. Cornish. K.C.), assisted by Mr N. A. Foden. and Mr P. B. Cooke, K.C., with Mr E. K. Kirkcaldie, will appear for the master of the vessel (Captain W. D. Cameron). Although March 18, 19 and 20 have been suggested as tentative dates for the rehearing, it is said that the final decision has vet to be made. No Ministerial statement was available to-day. but the full personnel of the Court will be announced by the Minister of Marine probably tomorrow.
