JEWS IN GERMANY

SCHEME FOR EMIGRATION COUNCIL RAISING A FUND LONDON, March 13. (Received March 13, at 10 p.m.) A £3,000,000 fund is being raised by the Council for German Jewry to finance a scheme for the emigration of Jews from Germany at the rate of 20,000 to 25,000 annually during the next four or five years. The leaders of American Jewry have undertaken responsibility for two-thirds, and it is desired to raise in Britain, half of which is already in sight. Sir Herbert Samuel, Lord Bearsted and Mr Simon Marks have appealed to the Anglo-Jewish community for the remainder.
