OBITUARY

SIR DAVID CAMPBELL (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, March 12. (Received March 18, at 5.5 p.m.) General Sir David Campbell, who recently resigned the governorship of Malta on account of ill-health, died in London; aged 67. MRS JANE CHEYNE The death occurred on Wednesday of Mrs Jane Cheyne, a well-known resident of St. Kilda. Born at Maungatun on June 15, 1860, she married Andrew Leslie Cheyne, and had a family of five sons and four daughters. Two of the sons were killed in the Great War. The early part of deceased's married life was spent in the Skippers and Arrowtown district, where her knowledge of first-aid work was freely availed of in days when professional attention was hard to get. For the past six years deceased had resided with her son-in-law, Mr J. A. Aitcheson, of Richardson street. The burial took place in the Anderson's Bay Cemetery yesterday, the Rev. D. Dodds officiating.
