Y.W.C.A.

The garden fete to be held to-morrow at "Redwood," 17 Garfield street, Roslyn, through the kindness of Mrs J. B. Dawson, promises some novel features. Apart from the opportunity of seeing one of Dunedin's oldest and loveliest gardens, guests will be invited to join in various competitions arranged by enthusiastic sports women of the city, and organised by Mrs J. G. H. Briggs. Croquet, putting, clock golf, deck lawn tennis and quoits Will be the order of the day. Music by the Kaikorai Band will be an enjoyable accompaniment and a display of life-saving land drill will add interest to the programme. The health and recreation department of the Y.W.C.A., to which the proceeds are to "be devoted, provided last season sport and physical exercise for about 250 girls through basketball, hockey, badminton, physical culture and corrective classes.
