SUPPLEMENTARY TO THE NAVY REAR-ADMIRAL HARPER’S PLEA (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, March 4. In a farewell message, Admiral Harper expresses bis thanks to the people of New Zealand and the press for the kindness shown and interest taken in his work. The most important thing at the present time to bring real prosperity to the Empire is to urge that the merchant navy be succoured in peace time to enable it to be strong in the event of war, thereby assisting the Royal Navy, stated Admiral Harper, who will sail on the Mataroa for England to-morrow.
