KING GEORGES FUNERAL
COST TO THE STATE LONDON, February 25. (Received Feb. 26, at 7 p.m.) King George's funeral cost £25,000, according to the Supplementary Estimates. This included entertainment of royal and other guests from overseas, funeral furnishings, mourning allowances for servants, hire of cars, and railway expenses, £7000; travelling and subsistence for naval officers and men, £5000; ditto military and territorials, £6000; expenses at Westminster Hall, St. George's Chapel, and on the route, £3000; sundries, including expenses of the Earl Marshal's staff, stationery and printing, £3740.
