YUGOSLAV PARLIAMENT

WILD SCENE DURING DEBATE CHAIRS THROWN ABOUT LONDON, February 19. (Received Feb. 20, at 0.30 a.m.) The Daily Telegraph’s Belgrade correspondent says: “ There was a wild scene during the Budget debate in the Jugoslav Parliament, when, amid a din caused by the blowing of motor horns, trumpets and whistles, the Opposition attempted to storm the Government benches. Chairs were hurled across the Chamber, and there were several hand-to-hand conflicts in which M. Mirkoviteh’s nose was broken. The Opposition onslaught was eventually repelled and the Chamber adjourned for a week. The trouble arose over the Opposition’s refusal to pass the Budget and a demand for a new Cabinet or fresh elections.”
