THE WEATHER
Ideal summer weather was experienced on Saturday, with bright sunshine and a fresh north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 67 degrees. Yesterday the weather, though dull, was warm and sultry, with a slight breeze from the north-west. Light rain commenced to fall early in the afternoon and continued for the rest of the day. The barometer fell to 29.70 in, where it remained steady. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, February 16. There was a continuation of the fine summer weather and moderate easterly wind during the week-end, but the conditions were cloudy and hazy to-day. The barometer has fallen to SO.OOin since midnight last night. WELLINGTON, February 16. Yesterday was bright and warm, with a light southerly breeze in the morning, which changed to uorth-west in the afternoon. The maximum temperature was 72.3 degrees. The north-westerly wind increased from 6 a.m. to-day and the day was overcast and gusty, with an average of 15 to 20 miles an hour and gusto up to 40 miles. The maximum temperature was 66.8 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH, February 16. The weather was fine and sunny in Christchurch yesterday, with _ a fresh north-east breeze. This morning broke dull and threatening, and a thunderstorm about 11.30 was followed by heavy rain for an hour and a-half. The conditions for the rest of the day were threatening.
