FREE MILK SCHEME
VENDOR ALLEGES ABUSE (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 10. A complaint was made to the Auckland Metropolitan Milk Council this morning by a dairy owner that the free milk distributed in some of the city schools was being taken home by children, and consequently vendors were suffering. It was decided to refer the complainant’s letter to the City Council for investigation. The letter stated that customers had said that they had got free milk from school, and other customers who had no children at school had children volunteering to get billies filled for them. The dairyman had not been able to sell milk, and had been forced to throw it away.
