DEMOCRAT PARTY
EXISTENCE TO BE CONTINUED OPPOSITION TO SOCIALISM (Pes United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 10. In an. official statement issued to-day it was announced that the Democrat political organisation will continue in existence. After an extensive discussion with branches and groups and leading citizens who had offered to_ assist, ithad been decided that intensive organising should be commenced in all electorates with the object of establishing a strong movement to oppose the Labour Party at the next general election. It was felt that the majority of the people of New Zealand, despite the result of the_ recent poll, were opposed to the doctrines % of Socialism. The Democrat organisation would co-operate with any other movement that desired to oppose Socialism, r.nd that would encourage the best possible type of candidate to come forward. The intention was to hold discussions early in the new year with other groups which are interested in the consolidation of forces.
