COMMISSIONS TO NEW ZEALAND ARTISTS HARBOUR BOARD'S GENEROSITY WELLINGTON, October 31. Although it would probably be an-, other year before the National Art Gallery and Museum will be available to the public, the Wellington. Harbour Board is setting a worthy example of national spirit by commissioning three leading New Zealand artiats to execute oil paintings of the harbour and waterfront which will be presented to the gallery. In 1928 the board made a donation of £SOOO toward the cost of building the gallery and the accrued interest (£1200) is being utilised for the pictures and also for the national historical display in the museum.
