ANNUAL SPORTS MEETING F. S. MEENAN WINS SENIOR CUP JUNIOR TROPHY TO M. J. O'CONNELL Although a stiff north-easterly breeze militated against fast times, conditions otherwise could hardly have been more favourable for the fifty-ninth annual sports meeting of the Christian Brothers High School, which was held at the Caledonian Ground yesterday afternoon. A large attendance of parents and supporters of the school witnessed the racing, which in every division was interesting and brought forward some juvenile athletes of unusual promise. Competition in the senior cup was particularly keen, F. S. Meenan, with 15 points, winning the trophy after putting up a succession of good performances. The runners-up were V. J. Joseph and F. J. Miles, who each scored 12 points. The junior cup went to Mi.J. O'Connell, with 19 points, the runner-up, M. A. Collins, being four points behind. Honours in the juvenile and midget divisions went to L. Roy and N. Mullin respectively. The arrangements for the meeting were in every way admirable, and although no fewer than 95 events were set down for decision, the programme was completed without unnecessary delay.
