FARM MORTGAGES

POWERS OF COURT OF REVIEW AN OVERSIGHT REMEDIED (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, October 24. An oversight in the Rural Mortgagors Final Adjustment Act is remedied in an amending Bill which was introduced in the House of Representatives by Governor-General’s Message late tonight. * The Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, said there was power in the Mortgagors and Tenants Relief Act to write down interest and arrears. Under the Final Adjustment Act the Court of Review of mortgagors’ liabilities was not given that full power, having authority to adiust the principal only. The amendmmt sought to correct this position, the court having asked for power to be given to it in this direction. .
