ST. KILDA BAND
A meeting of tbe executive of the St. Kilda Band was field in the bandroom on Tuesday night, Mr J. L. Gardiner presiding. Reports' vvere received dealing with the contest c/jmipaian, these indicating encouraging support from a large number of organisations and helpers. Mr S. Solomon, K.C., ha:(j kindly offered to place his beautiful ttroujids and gardens at the disposal of the b;jsnd for a garden party on Saturday. November 23. and this has been gratefully accepted. The Caledonian Societv has praiijUjKl its patronage, and lias expressed a dusirij to assist, and Mr S. B. Brettell has offered to provide an orchestra and attendants for a dance to be held, in November. Bjoth offers were accepted. Mr Gardiner expressed, on behalf of the band, his approbation at the encouragement fthown by all sections of the community, and saifl he felt sure it would inspire their ccpiductor, Mr A. W. Webb, and the bandsarien towards even greater efforts. ,'
