COUNTY WORKMAN CONVICTED (Peb United Piupss Association) BLENHEIM, October 23. The Marlborough, County Council purchased a motor grade r in Christchurch and sent a county workman to drive it to Blenheim. He left; ■ Christchurch on a Wednesday, but, owing to the slowness of the machine, wa9 stall on the road on Sunday. As the upshot he was charged to-day with working;, at his calling on a Sunday, though he Was not grading, but merely travelling at jthe time. The prosecution held that it i was not a case of necessity. The magistrate entered a conviction without penaJty.
