FATHER'S DEATH

MAORI CHILDREN'S CLAIM SEQUEL TO MOTOR ACCIDENT (Pek United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 22. Four Maori children, ranging from three weeks to two years old, were the plaintiffs in an action for £2OOO heard in the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) and a jury, suing by their mother and guardian, Wehuweku Waaka, in respect of the death of their father, Lorraine Enoka, arising out of a collision in which the deceased met witn fatal injuries. The defendant was Miss Jean Catherine Dallas, of Wellington. The accident happened in the early hours of February 10 between Paekakariki and Paraparaumu. Enoka was on a motor cycle and the defendant was driving a car, and the allegation was that defendant unskilfully drove and managed the car with the result that it collided with Enoka's motor cycle. The defence alleged that the deceased was entirely responsible for the accident.
