ARMISTICE DAY

CELEBRATION IN BRITAIN SERVICE AT THE CENOTAPH (British Official Wireless) (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) RUGBY, October 19. (Received Oct. 21, at 5.6 p.m.) The King has decided that the celebrations of Armistice Day on November 11 .shall follow the lines adopted on previous occasions. Representative detachments of the Royal Navy, Army, Royal Air Force, merchant navy and fishing fleets, (tnd ex-servicemens’ associations will march to the Cenotaph in the morning. Shortly before 11 o’clock wreaths will be deposited on the Cenotaph by or on behalf of the King and other members of the Royal Family and by representatives of his Majesty’s Governments in the United Kingdom and the dominions, India, the colonies and protectorates, and the navy, army, J T Force, merchant navy and fishing fleets. At 11 o’clock the two minutes’ silence will he observed, and a short service will follow, conducted by the Bishop of London. The service will be broadcast, and detailed arrangements for the United Kingdom will be forwarded to all parts of the Empire, and it is hoped there will be such general co-operatioir in the observance of Armistice Day as has been the case in previous j ears.

It has been learned that the Prince of Wales will be the King’s representative at the Armistice Day celebrations in Edinburgh.
