TULIP WEEK
DISPLAY AT THE SAVOY Thousands of gorgeously-hued tulips will nod their delicate bell-like heads at the Savoy this week, when tulip time, an annual event of note for flower-lovers and entertainment seekers, will be again observed. In recent years the tulip, following so closely the golden blaze of daffodils and narcissi, has increasingly caught the admiration of the thousands who grow flowers for pleasure, and the decorative effect to which the Savoy has put these beautiful blooms has hastened their popularity. The stately rooms of the Savoy are an almost perfect setting for such a magnificent riot of colour as the tulips will provide, and the added attraction, for some years now a feature of the week, will be the atmospheric entertainment. The recent spell of warm weather, followed by refreshing rains, have brought the tulips out in all their glory, and the resplendency of the colours will fascinate all interested in the new varieties, grown at " Glenfalloch," Macandrew Bay, and at Bennett's Nursery, in the NorthEast Valley.
