NEW INFLUENZA SERUM

TESTS BY WAR OFFICE LONDON, August 24. (Received August 25, at 10 p.m.) The Weekly Dispatch says the War Office is testing a new influenza preventive discovered by Professor Bearedka, an expert on tropical fevers. It contains a neutral beef blood serum stimulating natural resistance to infection and serum organisms infecting the broncho-respiratory tract. The Swiss army has already tested the preparation, which is swallowed, not inoculated. It is claimed that influenza cases have diminished 80 per cent. One of London’s largest banks and several big business houses have decided to provide their em ployees with the serum.
