DOMINION’S RECOVERY

TRIBUTE FROM THE TIMES COURAGE OF LEADERS LONDON, August 19. (Received August 19, at 7 p.m.) The Times, paying a tribute to the courage of Messrs Forbes and Coates in leaving New Zealand so long with an election imminent, expressed pleasure that they’were satisfied with the visit. Britain recognises how severely New Zealand was hit by the fall in prices and the contraction of markets, and is anxious to help. Exporting and importin'* countries should regard the proposed adjustments as temporary expedients, and must find ways of increasing an effective demand.”

The Times also pays a tribute to New Zealand’s recovery, adding: “There is no reason why the Government should feel uneasy regarding the election.”
