The monthly meeting of the Musselburgh School Committee was held on Tuesday night last, the following being present':—Messrs D. Highet (in the chair), H. Johnston. Brent, W. G. Maslin, Anderson, Caddie, Rout, and Glue. The headmaster's report was considered to be very favourable. There had been a fair amount of sickness amongst the children, but, notwithstanding this fact, the average attendance for the month was 499 out of a roll number of 535. The Visiting Committee (Messrs Brent and Cormack) reported satisfactorily on matters pertaining to the school. Accounts amounting to £2O 3s 5d were passed for payment. Messrs Highet and Maslin were appointed the Visiting Committee for the ensuing month.
