POOR QUALITY OF PLAY LONDON, May 4. (Received May 5, at 10.30 p.m.) The quality of the play in the golf final was the worst for many years. It was played in a high wind, but even so the figures were surprisingly bad. Neither was able to keep out of the rough. THE PAINTLESS BALL THAT GENE SARAZEN PLAYED. Professionals and Sports Dealers report that they are receiving from all sides inquiries about "the paintless ball that Gene Sarazen played on his New Zealand tour." This was the Spalding " Top-flite,"also played by J. Thompson when he won the Melbourne Centenary Open, also played and endorsed by Bobby Jones. The "Top-fiite" is the last word in golf ball construction, and is worth strokes a round to your game. Try one round with a Spalding " Top-flite" (paintlese) and note the difference.—Advt.
