Damages of £3OOO each were award jd to ex-Detectives Edgar Graham and Ernest Stenning, formerly of the Metropolitan Police, who succeeded in a libel action against John Bull, in which an article by an ex-convict accused them of accepting his bribes, blackmailing him, and conspiring to share his profits.
