FIRE TRAGEDY
TWO BOYS INCINERATED EXPLOSION IN WORKSHOP (United Press Association.) (By Electric TelegrapP —Copyright.) MELBOURNE, March 13. (Received March 13, at 10 p.m.) Two boys were burned to death in a fire following an explosion in a workshop at the Lygon Leadlight Company’s premises, East Brunswick. A quantity of kinema film ignited and exploded, one boy being hurled 20 feet. The victims have not been identified. A disastrous lire also occurred at the premises of the .Western and Murray Co-operative Bacon and Meat Packing Company, Limited, Flinders lane. Two hundred bales of wool, worth £2400, were destroyed, in addition to a large quantity of dairy produce. The fire was checked before it reached 20,000 bales of wool. VICTIMS IDENTIFIED MELBOURNE, March 13. (Received March 13, at 11.55 p.m.) The victims have been identified as Charles Leydon (14) and Leslie Smith (14). Tlie boys were cleaning pictures off old kinema films in order to recover the silver and resell the films. Their bodies were charred almost beyond recognition. The cause of the explosion is not known.
