MANIOTOTO FLOWER SHOW

SPECIAL PRIZES. The final meeting of the Maniototo Horticultural and Industrial Exhibition Committee was held in Ranfurly on Wednesday last, the chair being occupied by the president (Miss H. Eudey). There was a good attendance. The balance sheet of the exhibition was read and adopted. Mrs Watson Shennan presented a silver cup designed as a rose bowl for the competitor gaining most points at the exhibition. This year it was won by Miss H. Eudey, with Mrs J. Hastie second. She gained a smaller silver cup presented by Stewart Dawson’s, Ltd. Mr E. Carr was third. The following is a further list of the special prizes won at the show:— Cut Flowers.—-Mrs B. Parker, Mrs J. Hastie, Mrs J. Francis. Vegetables.—Mr J. M. Griffiths, Mr E. Carr, Mr L. Fox. Jams, Jellies, ami Preserves.-—Mrs D. Duncan, Miss H. Eudey, Mr E. Forrester. Baking.—Mrs Strode, Mrs F. Mathias Mrs J. Little. Miss H. Eudey, Mrs J. Hastie, Mrs J. Little, Mrs J. Hastie, Misses E. Duncan and A. Roberts (equal), Mrs Miller and Mrs Helm (equal). Mrs J. Templeton. Industrial.—Mrs J. N. M'Lean, Mis* N. During the afternoon the opportunity was taken to make a presentation to the senior secretary (Mrs D. Weir) in recognition of her assistance. Several members spoke of the work done by both Mrs D. Weir and Mrs G. Mathias.
