SECOND READING CARRIED . y DUBLIN, February 14. (Received Feb. 15, at 5.5 p.m.) In the Dail Mr Macdermot (United Ireland Party) condemned the Aliena Bill, declaring it labelled their kith and kin in various parts of the British Commonwealth as "aliens. Mr Costello, who was formerly Attor-ney-general, said that under the Bill Archbishop Mannis and Mr Bernard Shaw could be aliens. ; Mr de Valera said that there was nothing to prevent them from remaining Irish citizens. If, they were bom in the Free State they would be entitled under the- Nationality Bill to be regarded as citizens. '

The Bill passed the second reading by 53 votes to 37.
