V IDENTITY ESTABLISHED BODY IN MANAWATU RIVER. (Peg United Press Association) PALMERSTON N., February 15. Following extensive inquiries, the police,: have established the identity of the body of a man who was found in the Manawatu River in January as Edward Heading, a- labourer, employed at the State forest camp at Karioi, near Taihape. An inquest was held a few days after the discovery, . but will not be reopened as there is no fresh evidence as to how the deceased came to be in the water. It is not known whether the deceased had relatives in New Zealand., DOUBLE FATALITY CAR GOES OVER BANK. (Per United Press Association) , NELSON, February 15. A verdict that the deaths of Herbert Edmund Berry and Lillian Mary Berry resulted from head injuries received accidentally when a car driven by Berry went over a bank on the Wangamoa Saddle was returned by the coroner, Mr T. B. Maunsell, to-day. DEATH UNDER ANESTHETIC CORONER’S INQUEST. (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, February 15.

“This one of those unfortunate accidents which always may occur in operations of this •kind,” said the coroner, Mr E. D. Mosley, giving his verdict at the inquest into the death of Ernest William Armiger, aged 22. . Armiger died bn January 14 in the surgery of Mr E. A. Suckling, dentist, while two teeth were being removed under an anaesthetic administered by Dr Robinson E. Hall. The post-mortem examination conducted by Dr A. B. Pearson revealed that the patient was suffering from a condition of status lymphaticus, which he said could not be detected in an ordinary examination by a doctor. The coroner said he was satisfied that all reasonable care had been taken. CONDITION IMPROVED Inquiries at the Hospital last night elicited the information that the condition of B. H. Brodie, the jockey who was injured at the race meeting at Wingatui on Thursday, is slightly improved.
