CHINESE FESTIVAL

An enthusiastic meeting of the committee in charge of arrangements for functions during the visit of Miss A. M. Moncricff, World Fellowship secretary, from Peiping, was held in the Y.W.C.A. on Friday evening. Tt was stated that plans were well in hand for an exhibition of Chinese art, of which Mr 11. D. Skinner and a committee have charge, and of some very line enlargements of photographs taken by Miss Moncrieff herself. Evening functions will include illustrated lectures, a Chinese dinner, a manikin parade and other items of interest. The object of the festival is to give Y.W.C.A. members a truer understanding of the Chinese I people and their present-day life and problems, in which endeavour Miss Moncrieff's experience- as student secretary in Peiping will be invaluable.
