The meeting of Enterprise Lodge was i held last Wednesday, when a good attond- > ance of members greeted Arch Druid Bro. - A. P. Macfarlane. The bards' report dip- -' closed that a large amount of sickness 1 was prevalent among the members, and sick pay amounting to £24 was passed for payment. During the evening one candidate was given the obligation on behalf ' of Bay Lodge, and one proposition was banded in. It was decided to entertain the members of Progress and Southern Oak Juvenile Lodges next lodge night. The business of the evening was speedily '" put through, and at S p.m. the ladies • were admitted. Progressive euchre was - played until 0.15, after which dancing was ■ indulged in, Mrs E. Clayton officiating at i the piano, whilst P.D.P. Bro. J. B. Welch ~ made an efficient master of ceremonies. At the annual secretary-treasurer night 1 of the Otago Lodge, held last Monday, - there was a large attendance of members ■ and lady friends. /Arch Druid Bro. • Shepherd presided over the meeting. Sick ; pay was noticed to be again on the ini crease, the bards reporting several new • oases of members being on the funds. As , this was the first social gathering since c Bro. Bryant had attained his eightieth' ■ birthday, occasion was taken to mark the ! event by presenting him with a birthday 1 cake, and D.P. Bro. Bundle, in a nice . little speech, made the presentation, ; "tor , which Bro. Bryant responded. The musical programme was supplied by Begg's Concert Party and Orchestra, under the conductorship of Bro. Himburg, who entertained the gathering with a splendid concert of musical and vocal numbers. Visitors included D.P. Bro. Bundle, D.P. 1 Bro. Metcalf, and representatives from 1 the Ivanhoe. West Harbour, Bay, Linden, ' Lily of the Valley, and Enterprise Lodges.
