ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES
MAN ARRESTED IN MELBOURNE 1 V EXTRADITION PROCEEDINGS (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 11. Having once avoided extradition from Melbourne to to face a charge of false pretences in connection with°tlie Craftsman Manufacturing Company of New Zealand., Ltd., Charles Ernest Vickers, Australian company promoter, lias been again arrested by the Victorian police, and Detective W. R. Murray, of Wellington, left by the Marama yesterday to escort him back. Earlier this year Vickers was arrested in Melbourne bn a charge of obtaining £IOOO from J. J. Patterson at Manaia by false representations regarding the Craftsman Manufacturing Company, In May Detective Sergeant Jarrold went to Melbourne to bring him back to Wellington, but the case against him was dismissed by the Melbourne court on a technicality, and Vickers walked out of the court and vanished.
