BOY AS WATER DIVINER
DOINGS WITH THE TWIG; Picking up a water diviner's hazel twig, Dudley Nott, a 12-year-old boy, who lives at Witheridge, Devonshire, had a shock when it began to twitch violently. The professional diviner, Mr A. Knight, who was trying to find water for a new house, suspected that the lad, too, had the gift, and put him through a few tests. First, he blindfolded him and hid a half-crown in some long grass. When the hazel twig was placed in Dudley’s hands it twisted and turned and led him directly to the coin, which he was able to pick up without difficulty, although blindfolded. Then he was* asked to search for water. In a very short time he announced he had ■found some, and when a well was sunk a plentiful supply was found. He is believed to be the youngest exponent of the art fh Britain.
