WRESTLING BROADCAST
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —As a listener-in to the broadcast of the wrestling bout bteweeu .Dan Koloff and Tony Felice on Saturday evening last, I would like to protest through the columns of your paper at the action of the powers that be in not broadcasting from 4YA, Dunedin, instead of from the B station that was in charge last Saturday evening. It was almost impossible to get results of the contest owing to other stations chipping in. Sometimes the announcer would be heard quite well, and then the other stations would opeu up and drown him. To me it seemed similar to a man attempting to give a lecture to the tune of a barrel organ. Could it not he possible to broadcast from 4YA and let those who are not so fortunate as to be able to witness the match to at least hear a plain description of it, as apparently the B stations cannot broadcast strongly enough to prevent other stations from cutting them out and spoiling what-would otherwise be an exceedingly interesting broadcast of a very popular sport? I have been told that the programme from 4YA on a Saturday night cannot be changed to allow the necessary broadcast of the wrestling. Surely an hour or so would not affect the programme greatly. Perhaps the powers that be may yet do sonic-' flung to help the listoners-in to gain a decent broadcast of Saturday night wrestling in Dunedin before the season is over and before some of the excellent visiting wrestlers leave these shores.— I am. etc.. _ Listener-in. Tuapeka West. . [The broadcast in question took place, we are informed, from auxiliary station 4YO. not from a B class station.— Ed. O.D.T.]
