QUEENSTOWN As a result of its recent victories in the basketball field, Queenstown Rovers A team has secured the Gardiner Gup for the 1934 season. The Management Committee reported on. the success of the envelope system introduced at the beginning of the year. The P.W'.M.U. secretary gave an encouraging account of the ao< tivities of this arm of the ..church 3 service. Following on the. presentation of the reports, the Rev, Mr Murray gave.* review of, the work’ of .the church m Queenstown and at its outposts. He, also expressed appreciation of the personal friendships made, and of* the kindness shown himself ,and his .wife. Mr Murray later referred to the call he had received to take up duty at the Kelburn Church, Wellington. The call was at present held , by the Central Otago Presbytery at Alexandra. It was necessary .for the congregation to express its mind -regarding the call, and to send , two or three representatives' to the presbytery meeting. He said the call had come quite unsolicited. He had given ;it • every consideration, putting aside all personal sires, and he came to. the; conclusion that in the interests of 'the church and the congregation •he felt it woilld he advisable 'that; he. should move on. —The congregation then' discussed' the call, and it was resolved that no obstacle I be * placed in Mr'Murray s way. - Appreciative .references-were then made by several of. the 1 congregation To the service rendered' St. Andrew s by Mj?
