CHATHAM CUP FINAL (Per United Press association.) WELLINGTON, August 28. The council of the New Zealand Football Association settled the controversy over the venue of the Chatham Lup final to-night, when it was decided that the match be played in Wellington. The Auckland Association advised that, v/hile appreciating the Canterbury Association’s desire to stage the match, it considered it would be most inconvenient to travel to ChristchiU’eh. August 28. “I think it rather a cheek,” jaid a member of trie New Zealand football Council this.evening, when a request was received from the Australian Football Association that certain stipulations be recognised in connection with the tour of Australia by a New Zealand team next year. The Australian Association stated that it could not risk any lo ses in connection with the tour, and as a safeguard it was desired that the New Zealand Association pay £2OO for the assembly, dispersal, and equipment expenses, plus 33 1-3 per cent, of the profits. The council decided that it could not pay the £2OO asked for, but agreed that the request for a third share of the profits still held good.
