OTAGO RUGBY LEAGUE
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the Otago Rugby League Executive was held last night,, the president (Mr W. Holloway) being in the chair. The president referred to the postponement of the representative match between Otago and Canterbury, which had been arranged for August 26. When the Otago team had assembled at the Dunedin Railway Station a communication was received from the Canterbury Rugby League advising that the match had been postponed. Personally he was not in favour of matches being played on a Sunday, but that wag the only day on which a large number of the Otago players could participate in a match at Christchurch. He considered that the Canterbury Rugby League should be communicate,d with for the purpose of obtaining its views on the matter. The following draw for next Saturday was arranged:—Athletic v. Pacific (Mr W. Watt), 1.30 p.m.; Christian Brothers v. City (Mr A. Eckh'off), 3 p.m. Mr J. Ginders was congratulated by the executive on, his selection as a representative from Otago for the North v. South match, to be played at Auckland on September 1.
