OTAGO RUGBY LEAGUE
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE A meeting of the Otago Rugby Football League executive was held last night, the president (Mr W. Holloway) being in the chair. The Canterbury League wrote stating that all arrangements had been completed for the representative match to be played between Otago and Canterbury at Christchurch on August. 26. The names of three Christchurch referees were submitted, and the Otago League was asked to make a selection. —It was decided to advise the Canterbury body that the Otago League desired the appointment of Mr H. King. It was decided that as many members of the executive as possible accompany the Otago team to Christchurch on Saturday. The team and the members of the executive will return to Dunedin by the night express on Monday morning. The New Zealand Rugby League advised that Mr C. Hall, of Greymouth, had been appointed sole selector and manager of tHc South Tsland team to play-at Auckland >on September 1. The league would be aclvised when the South Iscland team was selected. It would be necessary for the O&igo selected players to leave Dunedin on the morning of August 29 and proceed! to Auckland with the other members of the team. The town clerk advised, in reply to the league's communication, that the electric lights on the Oval did not belong to 1 the City Council, and that body was not responsible for the maintenance of these.— The secretary was instructed to have the lights at the league's ground placed in order. , ■
