GOOD TEMPLARY

Rescue Lodge, No. 105, celebrated its thirtieth anniversary last week, when there was a large attendance of members, sister lodges, and friends. The programme carried out was as follows: — Opening chorus, “I Go 00, Oo,” Rescue party: musical items, Mr I’. Ramage; playette (“Hope Never Dies’’). Rescue party: solos, Mrs M. Sparrow; selections, Hilo Guitar Duo; monologues, Mrs A, Shearer; playette (“Mrs Char Rules the Roost”), Rescue, party: chorus (“Jolly Good Company”), Rescue party). Two tableaux were also presented—“ Rock of Ages,” by Sis. M. Dougal. Sis. A. Steedman singing the hymn during the setting, and " Acceptance of Good Tcmplary,” Sisters M. Coates, G. Rack ley, and Bro. J. Hilton. The chairman (Bro. W. A. Ties) extended a welcome to those present and explained the period of the lodge's activity since its inception to the present date. A vote of thanks was accorded those who assisted in making the function so successful. Following the anniversary celebrations a combined church parade was held at the Cargill Road Methodist Church on Sunday, when a good number of members, sister lodges, and members of the Rechabite Lodges were present. The Rev. George Brown delivered an address on the terms of the Order and present-day needs. Following the service opportunity was taken to thank the church and its officers for the welcome tendered to the combined lodges attending the service. The Rev. George Brown suitably responded.
