CONGREGATIONAL MEN’S LEAGUE
An enjoyable social evening was held at Ravensbourne on Monday evening under the auspices of the Congregational Men’s League, when the president (Mr K. G. Boy) presided over a good attendance of members. A formal welcome was extended to the Rev. C. G. Hedley-Byeroft by Messrs A. Wilkinson, S. Jack, W. Connor, and E. E. Wilkinson, representing their respective churches. Mr Bycroft suitably responded. Mr Mitchell, of the Byrd Expedition, was also welcomed to the meeting. The following programme was presented;—Song, Mr G. Dyer; song and impersonations, Mr G. Butler: instrumental duets, Mr L. Smith and Mr J. Mason, and Mr J. Connor and Mr R. G. Abernethy; cornet solo, Mr F. ’Wheeler; humorous readings. Mr E. E. Wilkinson. The accompanists were Mr R. G. Abernethy and Mr K. G. Roy. It was decided that the next meeting be held at Moray Place Church. A vote of thanks was passed to the ladies who provided supper.
