NOWHERE TO SLEEP

HOTELS AND COLOUR LINE Four coloured American entertainers who were to earn £IOOO a week performing in London spent four hours recently in trying to find an hotel in which to sleep. The entertainers visited 15 hotels in London, including some of the most fashionable ones, but on each occasion they were refused accommodation. They are the four Mills Brothers, the radio and film entertainers, who, have taken America and Europe by storm. " \W landed in Plymouth during the afternoon," Mr John Mills" said. "We arrived in London shortly before eleven. Until half-past two this morning we were searching round for somewhere to spend the night. "Many of the hotels immediately told us that they were ' full up.' Others said that they did not accommodate 4 coloured men.' This is our first visit to Europe, but we have travelled all over the States and never met this trouble before. " Eventually, at half-past two in the morning we managed to find an hotel where the management informed us that; they would let us stop for one night' only. So far we are still without beds to-night. We have been all over London to find accommodation to-day. " Two of my brothers have their wives here with them, and to-night one of them was to celebrate the first anniversary of his wedding —but we 'cannot find an hotel for the celebration! "
