ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
BOY CYCLIST KILLED (Per, United Press. Association.) AUCKLAND,'June 21. Fatal head injuries were received by a cyclist named James Frederick Cameron, aged 15, of Panmure, when the machine he was riding, was involved in a collision rath a motor car in Panmure road, this afternoon. The lad was proceeding from Ellerslie in the direction of Panmure, and when attempting to pass a motor van travelling in the same direction he came into collision with a motor car which was proceeding towards Ellerslie. The cyclist suffered severe head injuries and died almost immediately. .'.".' DEATH FOLLOWS COLLISION ' (Pes United Pbess Association.). HAWERA, June.2l. Joseph Leggett, aged 60, married, of Hawera, died in the hospital last- evening following an operation to his head for injuries which he received when bis bicycle collided with a car driven by James M. Collins. The collision occurred near the victim's, home when he was returning from a Rugby game. CAR CRASHES OVER BANK DRIVER KILLED OUTRIGHT. (Feb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 21. v Failing to negotiate a sharp bend on the road six miles from Cheviot this afternoon, a car containing two persons crashed over a bank into a gully 100 ft below. The driver, Geoffrey A. May bury, married, aged 35, a motor agent, of Christchurch, was killed, and A. D. Cooper, a farmer, of Spotsv/ood, suffered a fractured left leg, abrasions, and shock. The accident occurred on the portion of the road which runs along the bank of the Leamington River., Maybury was driving Cooper to his home at Spotswood and at a sharp bend the car left the road, overturning several times as it hurtled to the bed of the creek far below. Both the driver and the passenger were thrown out.
