NORTH ISLAND TRIAL MATCH THE HAMILTON NOMINATIONS. (Peb United Pbess Association.) HAMILTON, June 21. The following Waikato Rugby players have been nominated for places in the North Island trial match at Wanganui on July 4:—Backs: M. Davies (Taupiri), W. Allen (Hamilton), A. J. Aitken (Morrinsville), D. J. Olliver (Waipa). Forwards: J. Lceaon (Morrinsville), A. Story (Hamilton), T. Thompson (Waipa). INTERSCHOOL MATCH CHRISTIAN BROTHERS BEAT M'GLASHAN. The annual match between the Christian Brothers' High School and John M'Glashan College was played at Bishopscourt on . Wednesday afternoon, the Christian Brothers winning by 12 points to 5 points after a fast, open game which was evenly contested for the greater part of the time. The teams were:

Christian Brothers' High School.— Backs: M. V. Ryan, M. J. Michael, S. W. Wallace, F. J. Meenan, V. E. Wright (captain), S. Kavanagh, T. Wallaces forwards: H. J. Doyle, P. M'Manus, J. W. Barry, J. IX O'Driscoll, V. J. Josephs, E. George, E. Hoffman, J. W. Boreham. M'Glashan College. Backs: P. M'Ewan, T. A. Stewart, E. M'D. Stevenson (captain), J. G. Gow, J. B. Dunlop, J. K. Campbell, C. Rhodes; forwards: R. Cameron, J. R. Johnson, R. Dick, M. L. Benson, I. M. Cairncy, G. R. Chance, J. IT. MacLcaD. Christian Brothers commenced to throw the ball about as soon as play was started. Gow made a nice run but = Ryan secured and kicked clear. The Green forwards made a dash into College's territory, but a free kick allowed college to clear, and Gow broke away once more. Play moved up and down the field at a fast pace for some time, and on one occasion College had a free kick just outside the twenty-five, Stevenson's effort falling short. T. Wallace and i Wright put in a good run into 1 M'Glashan's ground, and S. Wallace i failed to hold the greasy ball, los- ; ing a chance to score. A eerics jof scrums took place on the College line, and M'Manus succeeded in getting over. The kick at goal failed. Christian Brothers ."3 points; M'Glashan College nil. College attacked strongly, Stevenson and Gow being prominent. Stevenson had a chance with a. penalty but the ball failed to rise. Half time was called without further scoring. Early in the second spell the Greens organised a good movement, T. Wallace securing from a scrum and sending out to Wright, who cut in and handed to Wallace, the last-mentioned player making a determined run to score well out. The kick failed. Christian Brothers 6 points; M'Glashan College nil. The Greens had considerably the better of the exchanges at this stage, but College was putting up a good defence. Another movement in which nearly all the Green backs handled ended in Hoffman ecoring. The kick at goal was again unsuccessful. Christian Brothers 9 points; M'Glashan College nil. A moment later Hoffman again got over, weak tackling allowing an easy try. Christian Brothers 12 points; M'Glashan i * ~~

College nil. Christian Brothers took up the attack again, but College was now in better form, and a strong movement was interrupted in the nick of time. With the Brothers attacking, Gow fielded the ball inside the twenty-five and ran down the side line in a epoctacular dash to score near the posts. Stevenson converted. Christian Brothers 12 points; M'Glashan College 5 points. The latter stages of the spell were characterised by even play, and the game ended with the scores: Christian Brothers High School 12 points John M'Glashan College 5 points Mr L. E.
