MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE ’ The monthly meeting of the. committee of the Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association was held yesterday afternoon., The president (Mr James Hogg) occupied the chair. THE DAIRY INDUSTRY. Reporting, on the proposal* of the association for assisting the dairy industry the chairman stated that the secretary of the New Zealand Dairy Produce Board had written to the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Association stating that the board very much appreciated the action of the manufacturer* in this connection, and would gladly co-operate in the scheme which it. proposed to bring into operation for the encouragement of a larger consumption of milk and milk products. ADMITTED TO MEMBERSHIP. Messrs J. A. Paterson and Co. were admitted to membership. TRANSPORT CO-ORDINATION. The secretary of the Manufacturers’ Federation advised that he had received a letter from the Transport Co-ordina-tion Board asking that the associations should supply information with respect to the efficiency of existing services, and that details should also be given of any Industries that were being impeded by unduly high transport charges. A committee consisting of Messrs J. Stewart, W. Stevenson, and J. Erana wae set up to consider the matter and report.
