HIGH SCHOOLS’ BOARD
NOMINATIONS FOR VACANCY Nominations to fill the vacancy on the Board of Governors of the Otago Boys' and Girls' High Schools caused by the death of Mr J. C. Stephens closed yesterday. Two nominations were received, as follows; — Constance Taiaroa Reid (Mrs G. W. Reid), nominated by Francis Boyd Adams. James Cleland Hall Somerville, nominated by William Gordon Kindley and Denis Mahony. The vacancy is for a representative of the parents of pupils attending the Boys and Girls’ High Schools, and a postal ballot will be taken. The papers will be posted to parents within the next few days and must be returned to the secretary of the High Schools Board (Mr C. R. M'Lean) by Friday, June 1. In order to allow votes posted on that day to be delivered to the office of the secretary, the counting of votes will not take place for a week, and the final result will nol be available till June 8.
Both the parents of pupils attending the High Schools at end of the last term are entitled to vote. Votes, if delivered to the secretary, mqst reach him not later than 5 p.m. oh June 1, and if posted, must not be posted lated than June 1.
