AUCTION SALE,

At the first public sale held at the Waikouaiti Sale Yards for many years the lease of the borough’s property of 2110 acres at Mount Watkins was sold at £345 to Mr Arthur Woods for 21 years. During the stock sale which followed lines of sound-mouthed ewes were sold at 10s 7d to 14s 9d. Ewe lambs sold at 19s 6d, fat heifers up to £6 12s 6d, fat cows to £5 7s 6d, a line of prime bullocks brought £lO ss, and. dairy cows up to £3 17? 6d.
