Burnside, March 14. Fat Cattle.—A large yarding of 302 bead of fat cattle was . penned for today's market. With the exception of three to four trucks of prime quality bullocks from Southland, the yarding was made up of light to medium-weight bullocks, and a large entry of cows imd heifers. Prices opened on a par with last week's average price, and as the sale progressed improved from 10s to 15s per head generally, until the last, race was reached, when a slight easingof prices to opening rates occurred. Store Cattle.—The largest yarding of store cattle tor some months was ottered at to-day's sale, numbering 270. Several pens of good steers were forward and met with keen competition, one line of large, very forward three and four-year-old steers realising up to £7 17s, but generally prices for lines of .good store bullocks ranged from £5 10s to £6 10s, while smaller sorts made from £4 to £5. Fat Sheep.—A medium yarding of 1280 sheep came forward, consisting mainly of medium to heavy ewes, with a few pens of wethers. Prices for wethers improved from Is fid to 2s per head, while good quality ewes were cold at an advance of Is per head. Prices for light to medium ewes showed no variation from last week's rates.
