(Fbom Ode Own Cobeespondrnt.) CROMWELL, March 13. BOROUGH COUNCIL ELECTIONS. Interest in the Cromwell Borough Council elections, which were held to-day, was very keen, and a particularly heavy ballot resulted. The five candidates gaining the highest marks are elected to the council, the, successful candidates subsequently delivering brief addresses from the polling booth, HARD FROST. After a week’s stormy weather, with cold rain and snow on the high country, the weather cleared last night and a hard frost occurred of unusual severity for this time in March. A good deal ;of damage was done to tender crops in kitchen gardens.
