FIRES

DRAPERY WAREHOUSE DAMAGED. (Pee United Pbess Association.) WAIROA, March 13. At 1 o’clock this morning a fire was discovered in Mrs Keats’s drapery warehouse. The brigade effected a good save, and the damage to the building was not serious, but the loss of stock was heavy, due to water and smoke. The cause of the outbreak is attributed to an electric iron being left on. The building was owned by Mr J. P. Moore, but the insurances on it or the stock are not available. A LOCAL CALL; An outbreak of fire in a motor lorry in Maclaggan street Was attended to by the City Fire Brigade at 4.24 p.m. yesterday. Little damage was done.
