FLOWER SHOW

LEITH VALLEY The annual flower show under thejoint auspices of the Leith Valley Progress League and Church Committee was held in the school hall on Saturday afternoon and evening last, and proved a success in every way. A The exhibits, though perhaps not quite so numerous in some sections, showed improved quality, demonstrating the fact that the _ different growers are beginning to know just what is wanted and are exercising more care in the matter of quality and uniformity of their exhibits. The potato and rhubarb classes in the vegetable section and the cut flowers were very 'favourably commented on by the respective judges, while the other sections wrere declared to be well up to previous standard. The following were the judges:—Messrs VV. Reid (vegetables and fruit), E. Page (flowers), Miss MTntyre (decorative work and preserves), and Mr J. Crawford (baking), ■ . ..
