PIGEON FLYING
RACE FROM ASHBURTON. The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew the first Ashburton Race of the young bird series on Saturday. The stationmaster at Ashburton liberated 103 birds from 20 lofts at 10.30 a.m. in fine weather, and the birds .put up a fast fly. The winner timed in at 1.4.1, t}ius completing the distance of 153 miles in 3hr 11mm. Result (in yards per minute): D. Cunningham’s Sunbeam, 1421.5 .. 1 J. Lynn’s Erak. 1417.7 . '• “ J.
