LIQUOR FOR AMERICA

ALLOTTING THE QUOTAS AUSTRALIA'S APPLICATION. NEW YORK, February 21. (Received Feb. 22, at 5.5 p.m.) It is understood that the Australian Government's quota application in respect to 30,000 gallons is only one of 18 applications before the Alcohol Control Board in Washington. It is believed that this will be acted upon within the next 24 hours, although the result will not be announced until February 28. It is indicated, however, that all Australian shipments bearing American Consulate visas of a date between March 1 and April 30 under the forthcoming quota will be admitted to the country, no matter how long they are in transit. THE WINE SHOW. NEW YORK, February 21. (Received Feb. 22, at 5.5 p.m.) Owing to the snowstorm, which still continues to tie up the city, the number of visitors to the wine show was less than expected to-day. However, the crowds are increasing in number.
